Who We Are
We believe in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ to all we meet with care, compassion and Christian love. We strive to achieve this by living out God’s love and grace through our relationships within our family, church and community.
What We Believe
At Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church, we believe that each and every person is a Beloved Child of God. We are Image Bearers, created with the capacity and responsibility to reflect the image of God to the world around us. We are Chosen to tell our stories of God’s love in our lives and Free to live a life marked by God’s grace. We are all unique individuals, invited to live unique lives, but United by the one True God who revealed himself to us in Jesus Christ.
The best way to articulate our shared faith is through the words of The Apostles' Creed:
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried.
He descended into hades.
The third day He arose again from the dead.
He ascended into heaven
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Christian church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and life everlasting. Amen.
Our Mission
We believe that Growth happens as we:
- Gather in Large (worship) and Small Groups
- Give of our Time, our Talents and our financial Treasure
- Go intentionally to our homes, our neighborhoods, our places of work and beyond with the good news of God’s love and welcome others to grow with us!
This rhythm is built into the worshipping life of our church, into our weekly routine and into the annual calendar of our life together. We hope that as you get connected that you will Gather both in worship and in a Small Group, that you will Give your time, talents and financial treasure, and that you will Go intentionally with the love of God.
